| Thank you for choosing Discount Boat Cover. Below we have
listed some of our frequently asked questions to make your shopping
experience more convenient. |
|
Q: When will I receive my
product? A: Generally, you can call or e-mail us to track an order. Also to get a
better idea of when your item will ship, you may contact our customer
service department before you place the order for current stock status and
available quantity. Generally, all boat covers and bimini tops ship within
7-10 business days and arrive within 10-12 business days from your purchase
date. Accessories ususally ship next business day, so don't be
surprised if you receive them before you receive your boat
cover.
Q: What do I do if my manufacturer or model
isn’t listed? A: Choose the first name on the “select a
manufacturer” pull down list (I DON’T KNOW / NOT LISTED.) Then
choose the picture that resembles your boat the most. After that, there’s
another pull down list for length, width and motor type. If you have any
trouble finding the right cover, you may contact our customer service department
by phone or e-mail us
Q: Can I pay extra to get my product here
faster? A: The Polyguard boat covers and Bimini Tops are made to
order and will ship within 7-10 business days. You may contact
customer service so we can make sure the universal covers are on hand
and can ask about expedited shipping.
Q: How do I care for my boat
cover?
A: To keep your boat cover looking great much longer, make sure
to support your cover using a support pole. Supporting your cover
properly will prevent water from pooling on the cover. When
trailering (or even just for storage), use a tie down kit to prevent damage to
your cover.
Never wash your boat cover in a machine. You can use a
hose and a soft bristle brush for cleaning. Allow the cover to dry completely
before folding for storage.
For more stubborn spots, you may use the following
recipe:
1 cup white vinegar
1 cup Borax powder
2 cups warm water
Mix ingredients in a bucket or in a spray bottle.
Apply to the spot of concern and leave on for 10 minutes.
Rinse--allow to dry thoroughly before folding.
Q: Does the Polyguard cover come with tie
downs? A: It comes with a braided tie down rope that may be used
for mooring but for trailering, you must use tie down straps. Never use bungee cords.
Q: What is a Reinforcement
Kit? A: The Reinforcement Kit is
a 3’ x 3’ self adhesive pad that you can cut to place anywhere on your cover
where a sharp point or stress area may puncture a hole.
Q: What does the warranty
cover? A: The materials and workmanship are guaranteed to be
free of defects at time of manufacture. The warranty does cover normal
wear. The cover must be properly installed, utilized and maintained. If
there is a defect, we will repair or replace (at our discretion) the cover free
of charge provided the customer prepays freight to and from the factory.
Q: What is your return
policy? A: Please refer to our shipping/tracking & warranty info page
to find out more.
Q: I ordered the wrong size / color…what do I
do? A: You need to call customer service ASAP so we can try to
fix your order.
Q: I have a trolling motor / jack plate.
Will the cover fit over that? A: We suggest going with one size
bigger. You can do that by selecting I DON’T KNOW / NOT LISTED from the
“select a manufacturer” pull down. Choose the boat that resembles yours
the most and then you may choose by length.
Q: How do I find a cover for my boat if it has a
T-Top? A: On the left hand side of the website, choose Boats w/ T-Tops. Then you will choose your length.
Q: My boat has a tower. How do I find the
correct cover? A: Choose I DON’T KNOW / NOT LISTED from the
“select a manufacturer” pull down list. The cover for boats with a tower
is at the top. Choose the one that resembles yours the
most.
Q: Does the cover go over my swim
platform? A: You must measure your boat including the swim
platform. Swim platforms aren't always standard on a boat. If
you have any questions, contact customer service. The cover will not fit
boats with teak swim platforms.
Q: Do your covers have snaps to attach to the
boat for mooring? A: No. The cover has a shock cord sewn
into the hem for a snug fit and loops sewn into the cover for the tie down
straps.
Q: Does the cover have the openings for support
poles? A: No. If you have support poles already, we
suggest cutting a tennis ball and placing it over the tip that will be touching
the cover.
Q: I’m looking for a good cover that’s
waterproof. Will the Polyguard work? A: The Polyguard is
water repellant. It’s breathable so if it is constantly covered in water,
it will eventually seep through. Anything that is waterproof will allow
moisture to build on the inside and mold will eventually begin to
grow.
Q: What is a Semi-Custom cover?
A: Better
known as "semi-custom" covers, Styled-to-Fit boat covers are our best selling, most popular
category of covers and for good reason. Value. Our Styled-to-Fit boat covers are
designed to accommodate all popular hull styles and boat configurations. For
example, a 21-foot V-Hull Runabout boat cover will fit a 21-foot V-Hull Runabout
Sea Ray, Bayliner, Four Winns, Stingray, etc. The cover is not "custom" to the
specific boat, but a highly fitted cover designed to accommodate the primary
characteristics of the boat style.
Q: Is a signature required for
delivery? A: A signature may be required for American Express
customers if your order is shipped to an address other than the billing
address.
